frequently asked questions

about our iPhone app and website features

What is one rep max and how is it calculated?
One rep max is simply the maximum amount of weight that you can lift in a single repetition. This number can be estimated using a standard formula which is what we have done in the Sim Gym application.
Is the iPhone device the only platform I can use SimGym on?
Currently, Sim Gym is only available for the iPhone or iPod Touch. As demand increases we will also be expanding to other platforms including Blackberry & Android.
Are my workout results saved on the iPhone for future access?
Yes. All of your workout results are saved under "logs" for you to go back and view at any time. They will also be backed up on our website server for you to access online at any time.
What exactly is "workout on the fly"?
Working out on the fly is for those people who want to workout without following a pre-determined routine. You can simply add the exercise, do any number of sets you wish, save and then move on to another exercise. These details will be saved in your logs just like any other workout data.
What does total weight mean?
Total weight is a measurement of the total amount of weight lifted for any given set. For example, let's say you did 1 set of biceps curls for 8 repititions using 50 pounds. The total weight lifted during this set was 400 pounds (8 x 50).
